The Living Quarters

The building

Currently, there are 15 apartments (with a total of 24 bedrooms and 47 beds) spread over 1,200 sqm of residential living space. The apartments ranging from 1 bedroom studios to 3 bedroom penthouses.

Lease terms are typically ‘mid term’ (3-12 months) with options for single unit rentals or group bookings. For larger productions looking to accommodate several colleagues together, flexible group packages can be provided.

Centrally located in Pest’s 6th District just off Andrássy Avenue - part of an UNESCO World Heritage Area - the magnificent Opera house, Saint Stephen’s Basilica and numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and boutique shops are all within a short walk of The Living Quarters.

The building, Paulay Ede utca 16, dates from 1905 and has a theatrical and craft backstory. It is located on a street that was occupied by numerous artisanal trades folk and named after the celebrated stage actor, director and general director of the National Theater in Budapest. The building’s ground floor was once occupied by 2 brothers, Messrs Szabo, who were leathersmiths and no doubt traded with the tannery that was on the other side of the street.

Features

Fully renovated by the BrodyLand team in 2012, the building has been consistently well maintained (by the same in-house team) since then. The attic was converted into duplex penthouse apartments with terraces, balconies and city views. An entirely new lift was installed and the building engineering (heating, cooling and utilities) was completely updated.
